The Netherlands government is set to expand its Patriot air defence system.
It’s part of a plan to strengthen national security.
The country has signed a contract with Raytheon for an additional system.
The deal sees the delivery of a Patriot Fire Unit which includes a launcher station, control station and radar, along with spare parts and a logistical reserve.
The system is designed to counter long range threats at high altitude.
The Netherlands first purchased a Patriot system back in early 2025.
The Dutch government said the system contributes to the protection of its own territory as well as that of allied nations.
It added that the move supports efforts to maintain readiness in a changing security environment.
Delivery date is by the end of the decade and once operational, it will be deployed with the Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command.
