State media figures in Russia are demanding retribution against a key London landmark.
The calls came after it emerged British-supplied drones were used to destroy a Russian-held bridge in Ukraine.
Propagandists have called for Westminster Bridge to be targeted, declaring it was “high time” Russia started “bragging” about striking the landmark.
They added that the Houthis or the Iranians will be the ones launching the attack.
A media outlet echoed the threat, calling for strikes on British “decision-making centres.”
The Russian response was triggered by the revelation that Ukraine’s 426th Unmanned Systems Regiment used British Malloy T-150 heavy-lift drones to destroy a crossing over the Konka river, a Dnipro tributary, in March last year.
The operation, which is now declassified, saw the drones fly more than 30 missions over 60 days, delivering 1.5 tonnes of explosives while evading Russian defences.
Rather than a direct aerial strike, a 50kg shaped charge was lowered by cable onto the bridge’s weakest structural points before a missile detonated it, exploiting the fact that bridges, though robust from the outside, are vulnerable from beneath.
The bridge sat on Ukrainian territory under international law, in an area occupied by Russian forces.
